Watford can edge closer to securing automatic promotion from the Championship by winning at Middlesbrough, as well as putting pressure on Norwich in the title race.

The Hornets are chasing a seventh straight victory while Boro’s top-six hopes have been rocked by back-to-back losses either side of the international break.

We’re happy to take 13/10 for an away win as our first Middlesbrough vs Watford prediction.

A Look At Middlesbrough’s Betting Odds

Middlesbrough are seven points outside of the play-off places following Friday’s 3-1 defeat at Bournemouth and their season is in danger of fizzling out.

Duncan Watmore’s well-taken equaliser in the second half cancelled out Philip Billing’s 14th-minute volley but further goals from Jefferson Lerma and Dominic Solanke settled the issue.

Neil Warnock said: “There were a lot of plusses but the goals were so disappointing to give away.

“When Duncan equalised, I thought there was only one team that were going to win it but the second and third goals came from elementary mistakes.

“But I enjoyed watching us; we had more chances than them and overall there was not a lot wrong.”

Unfortunately, Boro have just picked up a few key injuries at the wrong time while outgoing striker Britt Assombalonga is no longer part of Warnock’s plans.

The hosts have netted in 11 of their last 12 matches, though, so Evens for both teams to score takes the eye from the Middlesbrough vs Watford odds.

A Look At Watford’s Betting Odds

Watford were only workmanlike in beating Sheffield Wednesday 1-0, courtesy of an early own goal from Tom Lees.

However, that victory put them nine points clear of third-placed Swansea and cut the gap behind leaders Norwich to six.

The Hornets were fifth in the table and four points off the automatic promotion places when Xisco Munoz took charge in December.

But a run of 10 wins in 11 outings has put them firmly on course for a quick return to the Premier League.

“We have seven games more and we will see how many we need for our goal,” said the Spaniard.

“I promise you, we are very ambitious. Everyone wants the best. We are working very hard. We try to give the best for our club.

“The first objective is to try to get in the play-offs, the second objective is to try to take second position.

“And if it is possible, because we are working very hard, we will try to arrive at the top!”

Six of those 10 victories have now come by a one-goal margin and 14/5 for another narrow win is added to our Middlesbrough vs Watford betting tips, along with 9/1 for a 2-1 away triumph.
