Brentford head into their final nine matches of the season trailing both Watford and Swansea in the race for the second automatic promotion place behind leaders Norwich.

After two successive draws and just three wins from their last nine matches, the pressure is on if they are to avoid having to go through the play-offs again after losing last season’s final.

We’re hoping that should lead to an open game in Saturday’s Championship fixture and over 2.5 goals at 19/20 is our opening Huddersfield vs Brentford prediction.

A Look At Huddersfield’s Betting Odds

Huddersfield are still in danger of relegation but have shown enough in recent weeks to suggest that they should have enough to stay out of trouble.

Carlos Corberan reacted to last month’s 3-0 defeat at Preston by adopting a slightly more pragmatic approach and the Terriers have since gone four matches unbeaten with three draws.

Cutting out the defensive mistakes which have plagued Huddersfield this season appears to have been the priority but the recent signings of Yaya Sanogo and Oumar Niasse, plus the return from injury of Danny Ward, mean Corberan now has more attacking options at his disposal.

Huddersfield often make a bright start before fading and only three teams – all of which are in the top six – have a better first-half record at home than Town, while only Watford have a better record in the first 15 minutes of home games.

Looking at the Huddersfield vs Brentford odds, the Terriers look a value pick at 31/20 to score the first goal.

A Look At Brentford’s Betting Odds

Brentford were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest last time out and will be determined to now make amends.

The Bees dominated against Forest and took the lead through Ivan Toney’s penalty – his 28th goal of the season – but Filip Krovinovic levelled just after the hour.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank said: “If you look at the 90 minutes it’s more or less a spotless performance. If you look at the numbers, how big the chances were and how we played, it’s a 4-1 win so that is what we will take away from this game.

“After a game like that where things haven’t quite dropped for us, it is important to look at the performance, stay calm and 100 per cent if we play like this nine times more we win nine times.

“The experience of last season will help us in the run-in, but we will be focusing on the next game and nothing else.”

Only bottom side Wycombe have conceded more goals than Huddersfield so creating chances should not be an issue for the visitors, but Brentford have been trailing in three of their last five wins.

Let’s back either team to come from behind for victory at 13/2 in our Huddersfield vs Brentford betting tips or, for an even bigger price, take 25/1 for Huddersfield HT/Brentford FT.
